Who are we?
Founded in 2006, we are the most enthusiastic "Matchbox" and miniature die-casting model collectors in the Greater China region. The site is fully sponsored by Mr. Lingyun Chen, a Chinese "Matchbox" toys and miniatures collector based in Shanghai, China. Many members here are alike, who have more than twenty years of collecting experiences since the Universal era. Also, there are former employees of Shanghai Universal Toys Company (SUTC) and enthusiastic fans of Matchbox Models of Yesteryear and Dinky toys.
Why 52mbx?
2010 saw a tough year to the Club, we have to relocate our web site offshore China, and launch a new domain name as 52mbx.com to continue serving our club members. While thinking about the new name, a Chinese language imitation came across the founder. "5" and "2" read in Chinese much like "I" and "love". Meanwhile, MBX is an internationally recognized abbrevation of Matchbox. So the new name of "52mbx" just represents "I love Matchbox" in Chinese, and is much shorter and easier to be remembered than the old one of mbxforumcn.com. The new branding system is soon complimentary accepted in China region. Lingyun Chen, the founder of the Club, finally decided to launch the new site in May 2010, accompanied with reopening of the discussion board. Life is not easy even if model collections, and so the web site.
What's our mission?
We are born with a mission to promote "Matchbox" and miniature die-casting models through the ways of exchanging information, trading models and cultivating friendship among the collectors. We are trying to convey information to the "Matchbox" manufacturer what we are expecting. Eventually we are able to build a paradise for all the fans in China.
What's our value?
We apply Neutral views on each particular brand of miniature die-casting models, and are driven by the value of NO political, NO racial, NO porno that is suitable for everyone not only Chinese but also for people from other countries. |
