The "1-75" used to be a marketing term since Lesney era. Matchbox officially issues 75 models including some new casts together with old pieces. Eventually, "1-75" became a pronoun of Matchbox miniatures or so called "3-inch series". It is, perhaps, the most popular boy toys in the world. In 1982, the Universal Toys acquired Matchbox brand from Lesney's bankruptcy. A new product numbering system was founded to give each cast a unique manufacturing number (MAN), which is now the most recognized numbering system among the collectors all over the world and is inherited through Tyco till Mattel era.

To make it easy for Chinese collectors to identify Matchbox miniatures in hand, we programmed this search engine and summarized information based on many famous Matchbox collectors sites and books, firstly in Chinese and then in English.
